Is it spring?

The weather here is miserable here. Just two days ago I was admiring our neighbors crocuses as I walked to the mailbox in short sleeves and now all this snow!

We have a saying in here, “If you don’t like the weather this morning just hang around till this afternoon”.

I really should not complain too much because I am safe at home and not on these icy roads.

We really had a funny winter and now the spring is off to a slow start. I just wonder what summer will bring. :)

My Wrinkles

I have a good memory. A very good memory and sometimes it can get me into trouble. I often remember things people forget and sometimes I remember things that people think are embarrassing but don't release it. Sorry in advance to those.

One of my strongest memories is me sitting on hardwood floor in our living room watching my mother iron. The air was filled with the crisp smell of spray starch as she spritzed the tea towels. She watched intently as Nicole embraced Adam Drake on the television. The iron hissed as my mother sighed.

I remember asking her why she watched ‘The Edge of Night’. "Are real people like that?" I said. She replied that real people watched soap operas because they wanted excitement like the characters they see on the show. "Real everyday lives can be boring," she said.

She was very wrong...
